Your Poetry Autograph: 2016 Exhibit
Autograph book poetry began in the 16th century in Germany and eventually spread to America, where it was popular until the 1970’s, when people stopped writing poetry in their autograph books.
This exhibit showcased autograph books from the 1880s to the 1970s. The exhibit celebrated the poetry of the common people and gave all visitors the opportunity to create their own autograph poem and/or book.
