LG Teacher Exhibit

Those who can, TEACH: 20th Century Life Lessons in LG, 1901-2000

Teachers create communities. The influence they have on the children and the families of those children is immeasurable. In 2026, The Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry (ROMP) will honor 100 years of Locust Grove teachers who shaped the community. This exhibit will cover teachers who served in LG’s public schools from 1901-2000.

The exhibit will feature poetry, stories, information, photographs, memorabilia, and more about teachers in Locust Grove’s public schools from 1901 to 2000.

CALL FOR INFORMATION: We are interested in gathering photographs, documents, etc. about influential teachers from 1901-2000 in Locust Grove schools. If you have something to contribute, even if it’s just a story about a teacher, please submit it. Any photographs, documents, or objects will be considered loans and will be returned to the owner when the exhibit ends.

Items are needed by Dec. 15, 2025. The exhibit will open in February 2026. Please bring your items to the ROMP at the corner of Main and Delaware during museum hours: Thu. & Fri., 10-4 and Sat. 10-3. Or you can make other arrangements by calling or texting Shaun Perkins at 864-9152 or emailing ROMPoetry@gmail.com.
