ROMP executive director Shaun Perkins conducts book club and poetry/art programs within the Northeastern Oklahoma area (sometimes a bit farther) as part of the museum’s mission of making the experience of poetry available to everyone. For nonprofit organizations, her professional services are free of charge, although there may be a minimum mileage fee if the distance traveled is over 50 miles and if any supplies are needed.
Currently, Perkins has been facilitating a book club group at Jess Dunn Correctional Center in Taft, with all fees, including books, paid for by ROMP.
Perkins facilitated a program that combined art and poetry for Mustang Alternative School for several years with much success. The lesson plans she used there can be replicated in almost any school or organizational setting.
ROMP is always interested in helping a limited number of non-profits serve their community, especially adults and teenagers who are in at-risk and alternative education situations.
