Our main exhibit for 2027 will explore the poetic qualities of the game of chess. Our theme is OVER THE BOARD, a chess term that refers to playing a chess game in person with your opponent. IN PERSON. That is what the Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry has always been about: exploring the world through words, wordplay, and rhythms in order to have an experience of poetry.
The exhibit will open in February 2027 with an event honoring the artists and poets who made the exhibit possible. We are conducting two contests in conjunctions with this exhibit:
