Rhyming & ROMPing on Route 66, an interactive poetry experience on the occasion of the Route 66 Centennial, is on display in the main room of the museum. Although Locust Grove is not a town on Route 66, it is close by, and the road and route have made an impact on this area of Northeast Oklahoma, the state, and the country. We are celebrating that impact from the past 100 years in poetry and photographs, art, and memorabilia.
The small exhibit features poetry from a contest run for this special occasion. It also includes artwork from local artists, historical information, and interactive elements. You will find some unique information about Route 66 in this exhibit, along with artistic interpretations in poetry and art of the Mother Road.
Runs through 2026.
