Join us for a Spring Celebration of all things seasonal, including a book signing of “A Wildness Tonic,” which was written for ROMP’s Wildness Tonic Book Club, a drum circle, refreshments, museum tours, and poetry.
“A Wildness Tonic,” written by Shaun Perkins and illustrated by Bill Guthrie, was created as a part of the Wildness Tonic Book Club at the museum, though anyone would enjoy the poems and artwork. Copies of the book will be on sale for $15. You can also get a copy in advance at the following link:
A Wildness Tonic
All proceeds benefit the museum’s work, including the book clubs, workshops, contests, and events that are always free of charge.
The drum circle will be a fun gathering in rhythm. Bring your own drum (not a whole drum kit though!) or rhythm instrument–tambourine, bells, shakers, etc. A few musical instruments will also be available to use while you are here. No experience is necessary to join a drum circle, just a willingness to participate and follow the cues of the rhythm leader.
Poems from the book will be read during the drum circle. You can also bring your own favorite spring or nature poetry and share it!
Come early–the museum will be open all day, and you can tour the museum’s exhibits first, including our main exhibit celebrating the centennial of Route 66.
This event is suitable for all ages. FREE.
