victoryROMP sponsors several poetry and poetry-related contests–all which give away prizes in every age category. Children and adults can all enter. Click on the links or check back here as more details are published to learn more.

Poem Poster Contest–Deadline March 26, 2016
–Make a poster to honor National Poetry Month. The only guidelines are that the poster celebrate poetry and/or National Poetry Month in some way. You can use foam board, poster board, cardboard, wood, aluminum or whatever you have. Creativity encouraged. Computer-generated, original entries are also allowed. Cash prizes will be awarded at ROMPfest.

Autumn Rhythm Poem–Deadline September 16, 2016
–Write an original poem about autumn, about the rhythm of the season, about the changing nature of the world at this time. Guidelines: 30 lines or less, can be free verse or rhymed. Email or mail to the address below. Prizes will be awarded at Autumn Movement.

Your Story Poem–Deadline November 11, 2016
–Write your story in a poem, or write any story, in poem form. The poem does not have to rhyme but it can. The focus is on telling a story in poetic form for the ROMP Tellabration event. Guidelines: Poem must tell a story and should be under 300 lines long. Email or mail to the address below. Prizes will be awarded at ROMP Tellabration.

If you live in or near Locust Grove, you can bring your contest entry by the museum whenever you would like. You can also mail it. Poems can be emailed to ROMPoetry@gmail.com. Call Shaun at 918-864-9152 for more details.
