As part of ROMP’s celebration of the 2021 exhibit theme Firewheel Folk: Oklahoma Wildflowers in Poetry, we will be offering a Wildflower Chautauqua, in which various Okie wildflowers will tell us their story.
If you are interested in “being” a wildflower for the event, please let us know. You will need to dress in some way that represents the flower–could be a costume but could also simply be clothing with the flower on it or clothing in the colors of the flower. You will talk briefly–anywhere from 1-5 minutes about who you are (Latin name, habitat, etc.)
Your presentation can be a story, just facts, a poem by you or anyone–it is really up to you. The intention is to both entertain and inform people about the variety of wildflowers and their qualities in the state. The wildflower you choose must be one that grows in Oklahoma.
The Wildflower Chautauqua will be a part of the opening day’s events on July 17, 2021, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m…
All ages are invited to participate. If you are interested, please fill out the form below or email ROMPoetry@gmail.com with the information below.
