Poetry Festival is Saturday!

npmonthThe first ROMP Poetry Festival is Saturday, April 5, from 2-5 p.m. We will ring in April, National Poetry Month, with a poetry parade from the museum, across the haymeadow, to the ROMP Shop . . . and back. Stops along the way for impromptu poetic words and  . . . stuff.

Tour the museum, have some refreshments, and participate in the Awards Ceremony for the winners of the Poetry Poster Contest. Teachers, if you have posters you need me to pick up this week, please call or email, and I will do so. (rompoetry@gmail.com or 918-864-9152).

The Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry is a small, informal place, and you can come and go at all of our events. You need not know anything about poetry to enjoy a visit. We are easy to find: from scenic 412 between Chouteau and Locust Grove, go north on 438 Rd. to Perkins Rd. and follow it to the museum.

We have something for all ages–places to play with poetry and lots of spaces to reflect, too. The museum is small but jam-packed with ideas and inspiration. Outside, you can sit on the porch, walk around the land, go on the poem-cache treasure hunt, or pet a few hounds.

Call or email if you have questions.
