Summer at the Museum

DSC04041Yes, I know it is not summer yet, but it might as well be. I have finished with the Autograph Book Poetry Exhibit, and I took the time to take a bunch of photos. If you haven’t been out in a while, much has changed in the little red shed. Come out and see.

In the meantime, peruse the slide show of photos taken today. And let them inspire a little poetry in ya.

Poems at the Tastin’

poemswithlukeTonight, May 3, I will be writing poems-in-a-minute during the Taste of Claremore event downtown. I will set up shop in the outdoor foyer area at the Cranberry Merchant. For one dollar, you can give me three words, and I will write you a personalized poem in one minute. That’s a bargain, no matter how you look at it. Continue reading “Poems at the Tastin’”

In the Ballroom Theatre, four  murals illustrate William Morris’s poem “Flora,” a beautiful little homage to the Roman goddess of plants, flowers, and fertility. Continue reading “Flora in Enid”

DSC03309It’s official. The check came in the mail yesterday. The Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry won the Douglas A. Noverr Grant for Collection enhancement for Institutions to Build Popular Culture and American Culture Research Collections.

I learned I had won the grant back in December, but I didn’t feel I could celebrate until I actually had the funds. Yeah!!!! So come celebrate with me this month–March 22 at our Spring is Singing event. Or April 5 at our first ROMP Poetry Festival. If you have been out to the museum before, come see the changes and additions and the new ROMP Shop. This grant will mean so many great improvements for the museum. Continue reading “PCA/ACA Grant”
